This poem is a warning not to underestimate the humble and rustic people. He is addressing a critic, an onlooker who passes Kampong (a). So, the poet tells them not to say lazy to his people. His people are weak but gentle, they have no skyscrapers. They are labourous. Although they don’t have sophisticated culture, they are rich in tradition. They love art and life. So, the poet is proud of the humble people (b).

The humble people have their own unique culture and literature. Pantun music, epic shairs make ‘the people’s epic’. The heroic poetry is based on local culture and theme (c). The poet doesn’t allow condemn the rustic people because they have few banks but many riches. They haven’t corrupted; their life is fairly run, collect humanity from nature which is more valuable than money. The political philosophy developed later than the development of ancient society. So, the rustic people have learnt more than the modern political philosophy (d). The political philosophy hasn’t taught them anything. They have learnt to live or survive better than modern political philosophy. The poet attacks the so-called educated and snobbish people. Humble people are the pride of the nation and they know the nation truly (e).
